This work was commissioned by a client from Buchan, a hotelier who kept his doors open through the 2019-20 bushfires. While the fires took his home, he was still serving firefighters and neighbours who had nowhere else to go. He chose to rebuild in Buchan rather than leave, and asked for a piece that would keep that moment with him.
